Wanderlust: Seoul Searching

Running around Seoul with camera in hand. Those were the days.

Holidays to me are not checking in to the tourist sites and famous restaurants. Holidays to me represent getting lost in the many alleys, finding a hidden underground cafe, going to places unknown to even locals, living and breathing the beat of the city.

Lotte World Seoul

Waking up early to go to Lotte World. Best Korean breakfast - kimbab on the go! Cheap and good.

We took the subway all the way to Jamsil Station, and almost immediately after we alighted, this ahjumma approached us with tickets at a super discounted price. We were so sceptical, like what if she was a con artist and all. But our Korean friends said, let's take the risk! We really would have saved a lot of money, 50% I think! Luckily.....the tickets worked, phew...but I would suggest not to trust everyone if you're in a similar situation. It's only cos our friends spoke with her and took her phone number and all that we even considered.

Lotte World is Seoul's largest indoor amusement park, but it also has an outdoor section with roller coasters and what not. The crowds and the length of the rides - I warrant, not worth a 2nd visit. In the end we wandered into the Korean folk museum, because we were so sick of the queues and disappointment after each ride. (Luckily we only paid half price for the tickets LOL)!

I reckon, I still much prefer Everland to Lotte World. I've been to Everland twice and would still consider going again, but never again to Lotte World!

We consoled ourselves by going for some really good Korean food yumyum, back in Hongdae! :)

Wanderlust: Afternoon at Samcheongdong

Sometimes all you need is an afternoon of solace. Quiet and peace, wandering into oblivion in your mind and in the physical world...and then finding yourself at the peak overlooking everything, wondering how did I get here? How do I get out? You need that gust of wind blowing through one ear past the other; your eyes brighten, your breath quickens, and you realise...why rush through life when it's meant to be savoured moment by moment?
