IAMSTERDAM

I've been to Amsterdam twice already this year for meetings and trainings, and will be going again in December for the company's Xmas event. I'm kinda looking forward as it's the first time that the 4 of us (yes the FAB4) will be going together, and Nettie's first time there! :D Although the 13-hour flight kills you a little bit inside.

Spontaneous drinks with the gang on Friday night. Before I knew it, 3 rounds of jaegaerbombs had came and gone, Gangnam style had played 5 times, the number of galloping persons increasing per round as the number of drunkards in the bar increased. In case you were wondering, no I wasn't one of them hurhur. I was just sitting there, sipping my beer/gintonic/jaeger with my camera capturing the many faces of my lovely Nettie <3>

Saturday (amazingly with no hangover) I made some mayo spreads and we headed out to Marina Barrage for a picnic and kite flying with the gang. The weather was lovely, though admittedly after we left a thunderstorm came down on the entire Singapore haha. I don't know what I was allergic to, the grass/pollen/straight people (??) LOL but my nose was runny and I was sneezing the entire afternoon and evening :( But I still had fun though, just an afternoon of doing nothing, how nice!

Attended Nicole's performance last night at the Esplanade. It's become a yearly affair and I've seen her evolve with her song choices and even her accompaniment. I even helped her play once for a wedding teehee. She had an awesome guitarist and pianist last night, which I think boosted her confidence to perform well!

Then the Fab4 (plus Robert and another girl, don't even know her name lol) went for dinner at Al Dente Trattoria where we had overpriced pasta with a beautiful view. Le sigh. If only it weren't a Wednesday night.

On happier notes, my case for Bueno has arrived :D Super pretty brown leather!! Reading has become that much more fun now!

of buenos and coffee

After much deliberation, I finally got a Kindle! Gift from Nettie bumbum :D I named it Bueno...hahah geddit? I'm amazed at how lame I am sometimes. 

I haven't actually used it yet cos I have about 4 "real" books in my to-read pile. But the great thing about is that the seller actually gave me 2 DVD fulls of books, about 8000+ e-books, with the latest titles and all, so I reckon I'm not going to have buy anymore books in the near future.

The reason behind getting a Kindle was cos carrying books around with me when I travel is getting too cumbersome. The Kindle is a great travelling companion for me on the plane. Reading on my phone or my iPad hurts my eyes sometimes, and the iPad is a tad too heavy for reading let's face it. So I'm uber uber happy with this gift!! :D

Spent the morning filling it with Scandinavian crime thrillers, my latest dig. Hurhur.

And as I speak, I'm sipping my daily hazelnut latte that Nettie makes for me. I love it that she spends time and effort to make it exactly to how my tastebuds want it to taste. Little things like this make me appreciate her so much :D

Fun times at Irene's house last Saturday, whipping our hair back and forth!

Before that, I had my hair done! Looks so glossy and shiny because I just had a hair treatment thanks to Irene (who sponsored me and Laylay from her package at Jean Yip). But I'm never going back to Jean Yip! I think the service is horrible, they are hired mainly as sales people. "Do you want to wash your hair with a better shampoo? $5 more only!" "Do you want to buy serum home, your scalp needs it!" "Do you want to do a scalp treatment as well, I'll give you a special price!" NO NO NO I don't want anything except for you to cut my hair nicely and give me a nice massage while you wash my hair. Gosh! Is that so hard to do???!?! I had an okay haircut and soft hair at the end of the day, but NEVER GOING BACK!
