Alice Cafe Taipei

It seems we keep stumbling upon hidden treasures in Taipei. I probably walked past a dozen times without noticing this cafe just across the street from busy Ximending. The entrance is hidden and you'll only see a deck of cards when you look up (which will surely catch your attention).

The cafe itself is a whimsical mix of elements from the book "Alice in Wonderland", and each customer is served a magical welcome drinks - supposedly to make you shrink? Heehee.

We had such fun ordering from the quaint menu - which of course was made to seem like an old fairytale book; and check out our cute waitress (who don't you think looks like Xiaxue?)

I can't seem to find any websites which show this cafe that we went to, it's simply like we really stumbled into Wonderland...

But from my memory, it should be along Yanping South Rd, near the intersection of Changsha Street Sec 1 (nearest station: Ximen Station Exit 2). It's the building along the intersection and remember to look up to spot the deck of cards. Good luck hunting!

Somebody Cafe Ximending

Spent a quiet rainy afternoon at Somebody Cafe - and you will seriously miss the entrance of this one if you're not looking. The cafe itself is located on the 2nd floor and is part shop part cafe. It's a mixture of black and white doodles + warm lighting = can you tell I'm so in love already. Overall if you're into little knick knacks or just wanna rest your feet in some stylish surroundings, this is the place to be in Ximending.

The main crowd is on the 3rd floor - made up of mainly students and the usual weekend hipster gang.

Didn't try the food there, but from what I remember it was limited to some cakes and pastries. Of course free Wi-Fi is available, so we enjoyed that with some iced tea.

Transiting in Taipei

En route to Seoul in my favourite city, getting the best of both worlds by transiting 4 days in Taipei!

Yummy times!
