Exhausted

Jetlag has not been kind to me this week. Yesterday I truly felt my mind had shut down in the middle of a meeting. Granted I had started my day before 8am with back to back meetings and only a 15-min lunch break (even then it was just a quick run to the canteen to grab a soup and sandwich, and back to the meeting room.)

Not to say this week hasn't been fantastic. I got to eat at my favorite Burger Bar TWICE, all my meals have been super, I almost teared at my first taste of the Oriental lobster soup I ordered last night (tomyum in Amsterdam omg imagine that), the company is fab with my team around, the opportunities are endless in HQ. Gosh can just go on and on but I'm too tired to.

Am looking forward to go home though. Immediately checked in my flight online when it opened yesterday in the middle of meeting haha! Woke up craving for laksa...we shall meet in 48 hours oh glorious coconut chili noodles!

Waiting Game

As always, it's a waiting game whenever I reach Amsterdam. This trip more than ever, since my flight got delayed by 2 hours due to heavy rains in Singapore...then because I arrived later, the airport was busier so luggage queues were longer, connection queues were longer....and the icing on the cake is that of course, the hotel is full and doesn't have any rooms available yet until 3pm. Whoohoo!

Let's celebrate with some coffee shall we? Cos coffee cures everything.

Happy Wedding Pris & Tsai

En route to Pris' and Tsai's wedding lunch at Regent Hotel. It was a small intimate affair with a very happy mood. Imagine the couple marching in to the theme of Indiana Jones! I think that's the way weddings should be..there's no need for large elaborate fancy arrangements! What's important is that everyone present is truly happy for the couple and has a good time! Congratulations and a lifetime of happiness to this happy couple! :)

Wanderlust: Beer Town Qingdao

You ain't been to Qingdao, if you've never had an unfiltered Tsingtao beer. Did you know - Tsingtao beer is actually a German brew, founded in 1903 by the German settlers in Qingdao! Tis a strange little town, Qingdao is. It has tons of European architecture, due to its previous colonisation during the World Wars...and because of its proximity to Korea, sometimes it feels like Little Korea as well. I sure had my share of Korean food while I was there!

Visited the Beer Museum, along Beer Street. It was pretty interesting, and we got to taste beer as well (always a good thing)! There's actually a Tsingtao dark brew, which is not available in Singapore. If you see a Tsingtao bottle with a red cap, it means it's meant for export! And if you're a beer history buff, lots of trivia for you to soak up throughout the guided tour.

That week was also the starting of the month-long International Beer Festival held in Qingdao. We took an arduous bus-ride to Laoshan District, where the giant beer tents were pitched. It was indeed...a heaven for beer (and meat) lovers. Tons of skewered meat stalls catering to the hungry!
